Palos Forest Preserve Ride

AUTUMN LEAF ALERT!!!

HOSTED BY the Nibbling Navigators & UC Century Cycling Club

Moderate paced road ride to Palos Forest Preserve. Will stop for lunch. Approximately 100km r/t. This is a moderately challenging ride, so if you’re unsure about the effort or distance, please ask some questions!

SHOP RIDES
Once you’ve conquered a coffee ride or three, consider joining a shop ride. You’ll get to explore forest preserves, reclaimed wetlands, and a variety of quirky & surprising cafes in Northwest Indiana. Here you will learn about endurance-style cycling, group riding protocols, and how to drink from a water bottle without stopping! Routes include an early turnaround if you don’t feel confident with the full distance. While most folks are on road bikes wearing silly + stretchy clothes, any properly functioning bicycle & exercise-appropriate apparel will do. If it’s your first (or even tenth) time, feel free to ask questions! If you are moderately experienced, and looking for challenging rides, note that there is often a small contingent which will split off to do extra loops, or specific segments at speed. As always, meet at the shop, departing 10min after the hour.
